"We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty.”

Faith Formation
Faith Formation is a continuous, lifelong process. Therefore, here at St. Mary's we have a variety of programs for everyone where we can all grow in knowledge of the truths of the Catholic faith. Children are best able to integrate the meaning of religious truth into their lives when, as a family, they participate in regular attendance of the Holy Mass, as well praying together at home. Each family should be able to put into practice the inspiring words of Fr. Patrick Peyton: “The family that prays together stays together. "

Social Concerns Committee
The Social Concerns Committee of St. Mary’s Parish follows Jesus’ call to reach out to our brothers and sisters in need (Matthew 25:31) through prayer, advocacy, stewardship, service, and collaboration. We are guided by the Catholic principles of social justice. The Social Concerns Committee is dedicated to all in need within our parish, our community, and the world, including those challenged by poverty, homelessness, disability, and injustice. We are involved with the parish Jesse Tree, assistance for families in transitional apartment living, nursing home gifts, jail ministry, the inclusion of parish members with disabilities, and other community needs.
